Key Insights from the World Cup 2026 Kit Deal Rankings:

1. "Big Three" dominate international football

Out of the 48 teams competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 37 nations (77%) are supplied by one of the three biggest sportswear manufacturers - adidas, Nike or Puma.

Only 11 teams (22.9%) wear kits from other brands such as Kelme, Umbro, Marathon, Reebok, Kappa and regional manufacturers

2. Nike spends more than any other brand

Despite sponsoring fewer teams than adidas (12 vs. 14), Nike spends almost twice as much each year thanks to its blockbuster partnerships with Brazil, France, England, the United States and the Netherlands.

Estimated Annual Spending by the Big Three Kit Manufacturers
Brand Teams Estimated Annual Spend
Nike 12 โ‚ฌ249M
adidas 14 โ‚ฌ157M
Puma 11 โ‚ฌ38.8M
Total 37 โ‚ฌ446 million

3. 48 qualified nations generate around โ‚ฌ452 million per year

Combined estimated annual value of all 48 national team kit contracts is approximately: โ‚ฌ452 million.

Since the combined value of all 48 deals is approximately โ‚ฌ452 million per year, Big Three account for around 98.7% of the total value of all national team kit deals, despite sponsoring 77% of the teams

This figure excludes undisclosed performance bonuses, royalty payments from shirt sales, merchandising incentives and other commercial clauses.

4. Brazil owns the biggest active national team kit deal

Brazil's agreement with Nike is worth an estimated โ‚ฌ87.2 million per year, making it comfortably the richest active national team kit contract in world football.

However, that record won't last for long.

5. Germany's future Nike deal will rewrite the market

Germany's current adidas agreement is worth โ‚ฌ50 million annually, but from 2027 Nike will pay approximately โ‚ฌ100 million per season the first nine-figure national team kit deal in football history.

The new agreement is worth double Germany's current deal and will become the biggest international kit sponsorship ever signed.
