La Liga is top division in Spain's football pyramid and they are only behind Premier League in terms of yearly revenue and popularity worldwide. Real Madrid and Barcelona are probably the two most renouned clubs in the world. Naturally these two clubs are also way ahead of interms of spending power in Spain.

2025/26 La Liga Wage Bills: Real Madrid has the highest wage bill in La Liga with them spending over €284 million a year on player wages. Barcelona has wage bill of around €209 million a year. However, the third highest wage bill is not even half of Real Madrid and that is where the league competitive edge takes bit of an hit. Ateltico Madrid has wage bill of only €135 million a year. While 10 clubs in the league has wage bill less then €30 million a year. That is roughly 10% of what Real Madrid spend on players yearly. Or you could put it another way that Real Madrid are paying Kylian Mbappe more money then 14 of La Liga clubs yearly wage bills.

Average Salary In La Liga: The average salary in La Liga is around €1.3 million per season. However unlike other top European leagues, there is minimum salary law in Spanish football where clubs in Spain's top division (La Liga) must pay minimum of €195,000 per season salary to players 21 or above.
