Scottish Premiership has massive wage bill disparity between the top two clubs and the rest of the league. At the start of 2025/26 season, Rangers has the biggest wage bill at around £23.5 million followed by Celtic who will be spending in region of £22.5 million on player salaries. While the teams at bottom half of the table are only spending around £4 million on player wages.
The highest paid player in Scottish Premiership are Celtic's new signing Kieran Tierney who with his new 5-year (2025/30) contract will be earning £50,000 per week. The average salary at the top two clubs is around £14,000 per week while it comes down to only £5,000 a-week at the bottom clubs.
