Europa League Prize Money (Breakdown)

UEFA allocated €3.317 billion as prize money for its major competitions including UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Super Cup. Majority of it goes to UEFA Champions League prize money pot of €2.46 billion (74.1%). While UEFA Europa League gets €565 million (17%). On this page we are going to breakdown the entire UEFA Europa League prize money fund and how its distributed among participating teams.

UEFA Europa League Prize Money Breakdown:

Total pot available is €565 million which is divided into three parts. €155m (27.5 %) as guaranteed payments to clubs qualifying in group phase. €212m (37.5%) is distributed on performance based model (number of wins in league phase, playing in knockouts etc). €198m (35%) is distributed on the basis of combination of TV Market Share and coefficient).

1. Guaranteed & Performance Related Payments:

Each of the clubs (36) who qualifying for League Phase will get guaranteed payment of €4.31 million regardless of the results in the competition. 

Teams can accumulate €450,000 per win and €150,000 per draw in the league phase. €50 will be distributed based on final ranking in the league phase. €50 is divided into 666 shares that comes down to €75,000 per share. Group stage winners get 36 shares (€2.7m) followed by 35 shares (€2.625m) for runners-up, 34 for third-placed team and so on. 

Clubs finishing in 1-8 places get €650,000 each. While clubs in 9 to 16th place also get €300,000 payments. 

For playing in the knockout playoffs teams get €300,000 each. Round of 16 get each team €1.75 million, quarterfinals (€2.5m) each, semifinals €4.2m (each). Finalists €7m each. Eventual winners €6 million.

2). Market Share & Coefficient

 €198 million in distributed among teams based on combination of TV market share and UEFA 10-year coefficient basis. Teams from bigger leagues can earn more from this pot while teams coming from lower ranked leagues in UEFA Coefficient earn less. Manchester United and Tottenham both earned €10 million each in 2024/25 season. While Bodo Glimt who reached semifinals only earned around €4 million. 

Below is the entire breakdown of 2024/25 UEFA Europa League prize money and how much each participating team earned during the campaign. Tottenham earned the highest €46 million while Manchester United took home €36m.
