Exequiel Palacios

27 August 2026 – Exequiel Palacios joined Ipswich Town from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £19.5 million transfer fee. He signed a four-year contract with a reported base salary of £100,000 per week (£5.2 million per year), plus performance-related bonuses of up to £1.3 million per year.

The deal makes Palacios the highest-paid player in Ipswich Town’s history. However, his contract includes a relegation clause, under which his salary would be reduced by 50% if Ipswich Town are relegated during the first season of his contract.
