31 May 2025 - John Heitinga was appoined as Ajax manager signing 2-year (2025/27) contract. He was assistant manager at Liverpool who let him leave without any compensation. His salary at Ajax is reported to be around €1.5 million plus bonuses. It is standard salary for inexperienced managers at Ajax who usually offer bigger financial deal once manager has proven himself. Erik Ten Haag also started at lower salary but reached €3 million per season with his last contract extension back in April 2021.
