The FIFA World Cup 2026 — jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico is set to become the most lucrative sporting event in history. With tournament's expension to 48-team format resulting in record number of matches, huge broadcasting rights deals, sponsorships, and hospitality/ticketing FIFA forcast around $8.9 billion in total revenue for relating to FIFA World Cup 2026.
FIFA has announced record $3.92 billion from TV rights sales relating to only FIFA World Cup 2026. FIFA has promised extensive coverage rights in over 200+ territories across the world. A total of $1.78 billion is expected from Marketing and Commercial rights which include deals with Adidas, Coca-Cola, Visa and several other brands worldwide.
In terms of hospitality and ticketing, FIFA are expecting record revenue from this stream with 104 matches taking place in 16 different citires across US, Canada and Mexico. FIFA has predicted a total of $3 billion revenue from Ticket sales and Hospitality packages.

FIFA World Cup 2026 – Distribution / Investment Breakdown
Around $896 million will be paid directly to participating teams as prize money. It include guaranteed payments to each participating nation plus bonuses based on team performance in the tournament.
A significant share will go toward operational costs, logistics, and stadium management across the 16 host cities which will be around $2.5 billion.
$355 million will be allocated for player insurance fee known as FIFA Club Protection Programme (CPP). It compensate clubs who release player for national teams and in-case of player injury during FIFA tournament.
Another big portion ($1.726 billion) of 2026 revenue will go to Development and education programmes which cover many aspects including payments ($1.5 million) to each FIFA member federation under the programme called FIFA Forward 3.0. Other solidarity payments to federations and under Development fund.
