Chelsea and Nike kit deal is 5th most lucrative in premier league only behind the likes of City, Manchester United and Arsenal respective kit contracts. Chelsea and Adidas ended their contract 6 year earlier then it was suppose to be back in 2016. Chelsea had to pay compensation to Adidas for early termination which allowed Chelsea to signed new Nike contract. Financial Number Behind Chelsea-Nike Kit Deal:
Chelsea and Nike 15-Year (2017/32) contract is one of the biggest in Premier League worth £900 million. The contract came into play from the start of 2017/18 season and will last until 2031/32 season. Nike will pay £60 million per season to Chelsea under the contract and in return will have majority control over Chelsea merchandising operations globally.
Nike will manufacture kits for Chelsea men and women teams as well as all teams at Youth levels. Chelsea get to keep 10% of the proceeds from certain merchandising operations which can bring in extra £30m to £35m a-year.
Chelsea has the ability to renegotiate terms in 2027 depending on kit deals market and if they win back to back major titles.
