German Bundesliga Prize Money 2025/26 (Breakdown)

German Bundesliga has one of the most complex TV rights and commercial revenue distribution system in europe. Bundesliga create prize money pot from domestic and international TV rights and commercial revenue. Which is then distributed on the basis of several streams including equal distribution, merit based payments, youth development and international market pool. Before we get into distribution system we breakdown how much Bundesliga generate from tv rights.
Current Bundesliga Domestic and Overseas TV Rights:
According to DFL (German Football League), Bundeslia 1 and 2 will generate around €4.484 billion from domestic rights from the 4-year (2025/29) cycle. That works out to around €1.12 billion per season. DFL expects around €215 million per season from overseas rights. So the combined total of €1.336 billion per season from 2025/26 season to 2028/29 will be distributed among 18 Bundesliga clubs and fraction of it to Bundesliga 2.
A). Domestic TV rights revenue distribution:
Majority of €1.12 billion per season is distributed among 18 Bundesliga clubs on the basis of 4 pillars.

B). International Rights Distribution:
DFL expets around €215 million per season from 2025/26 to €2028/29 from international tv rights. Majority of international rights money is distributed based on long-term and history success of clubs. Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Leipzig get most of the the revenue from this pot.
