National Cricket Teams Salary Insights

All international cricket federations/boards pay their players themselves under different kinds of contracts. ICC or any other governing body only pay/share revenue with the federations. One of the most common contract use by cricket federations is 'central contract' system where players who represent national teams get 1 or 2 year contract with base salary plus match fee for every match they play for national team. Below is the breakdown of all major international cricket playing nation's central contract and how they pay their players.

For example BCCI is widely considered as the most resourceful cricket board at the moment and they have central contract system where around 25 players are selected every 2 year cycle who represent India in Test, ODIs and T20 formats. They get fixed monthly/yearly base salary plus match fee for playing each format match. Central contract is further divided into several categories depending on performances and experience. Players in Category A earn more then category B and so on.
