FC Koln won the Bundesliga-2 title earning automatic promotion back to German top flight football for 2025/26 season. They operated at highest wage bill in Bundesliga-2 last season but as they aim to compete and survive in Bundesliga 2025/26 season they will need to bring in talented players. Their current wage bill is around €17.6 million which might increase significantly if they invest in Bundesliga quality players.
They have already brought in the likes of Ísak Jóhannesson, Ragnar Ache, Sebastian Sebulonsen, Tom Krauß and Ron-Robert Zieler and more are expected to come before the new season begins. Luca Waldschmidt is their highest paid player with 3-year (2024/27) contract earning €3.4 million (gross) per season.
