Manchester City has completed the signing of James Trafford from Burnley for a reported £27 million (including add-ons). James Trafford signed 5-year (2025/30) with option for further one year. His salary was increased to £48,500 a-week / £2.52m (Gross) per season.
He was only earning around £25,000 per week with his 4-year deal with Burnley signed back in July 2023. Burnley bought him from Manchester City in 2023 for £14 million and City inserted buy-back clause as well as sell-on clause of 10% in that deal. That is why with City were able to buy him back from Burnley by matching Newcastle United's £31 million bid.
