Russel Martin was appointed as Southampton manager back in June 2023. He signed 3-year (2023/26) contract with salary of £1.5 million per season. He signed financially improved 3-year (2024/27) contract extension in July 2024 increasing his salary to £2 million per season. However he was sacked in December 2024.

Russell Martin joined Rangers FC as manager on a 3-year (2025/28) contract where his salary will be around £1.5 million a-year. He accepted lower financial terms compared to what Philippe Clement was earning during his 2 year stint as Rangers manager. Russel Martin was sacked on 6th October 2025 after only 17 games in charge of the club.
