Nico Williams
Nico Williams has signed financially improved 10-year (2025/35) contract at Athletic Bilbao snubbing FC Barcelona. Barcelona and Williams reportedly had agreement for a 6-year (2025/31) contract worth €7.5 million net per season (€14 million a year gross). However Barcelona failed to pay the release clause on time beside Athletic were successful in convincing Nico Williams to stay.
Now not only he has 10-year contract with Bilbao, his release clause has also sky rocketed to around €90 million for the first three-seasons of the contract. He previously signed a four-year deal with Athletic back in 2023 where his base salary was increased to €10.4 million a-year (gross). His base salary stays the same with new 10-year deal, however performance related bonuses upto €2.5 million are added into the contract taking total yearly package to €12.9 million (gross)
