Financial numbers behind Paul Pogba transfer to AS Monaco

Paul Pogba has agreed personal terms to join AS Monaco for a 2-year (2025/27) contract and the motive behind the move on Pogba's part is a bid to get selected for 2026 World Cup squad. Pogba apparently had couple of highly lucrative offers from Saudi league however he resisted the temptation of money and hoping to stay in competitive league where a good season will surely put him in contention for World Cup squad.
Paul Pogba agreed to lower his salary demands to join Monaco which on paper is amazing move for both player and the club. He reportedly signed €4.5 million a-year (gross) salary contract which will make him highest paid player in Monaco squad. He has not played competitive football for around 2 years since his 4 year doping ban which was later reduced to 18-months. He and Juventus mutually terminated his contract allowing him to join any other club since March 2025.
