Prize Money Pool For EFL League Cup:
League Cup is organized by EFL (English Football League) who also distribute prize money fund between the 92 teams participating in the tournament every year. Unlike Premier League and FA Cup prize money of League is rather insignificant specially for Premier League and Championship sides. The eventual winners of the tournament only get £100,000 while runners-up pocket only £50,000. Teams winning the first round matches get only £5,000 followed by £7,000 and £10,000 for winning 2nd and 3rd round match. Which is one of the reasons premier league clubs do not take this competition seriously and field their second string sides in most of the competition.

EFL Cup Gate Receipt Revenue Sharing:
However a lot more is at stake as far as league one and league two clubs are concerned. If they are drawn away against one of the top premier league sides they get to keep 40% of the gate receipt from that match. For example if league two team playing Manchester United at Old Trafford the gate receipt from that one match can be over £2 million. From which EFL keeps 10% for administration charges while rest of the money is divided equally among two clubs. Which could be around £800,000 and that is huge sum for League one or League two teams.
Revenue Share From Final Gate Receipts:
The final takes place at Wembley which has capacity of around 80,000 and regardless who reaches the final its mostly sold out. The total gate receipts from the wembley final is around £2.5 million from which EFL keeps £300,000 while the rest of £2.2 million is share equally between the finalists regardless of the result of the final.
