Copa Del Rey is the most important cup competition in Spanish football. It has been around for over a century and was re-branded back in 1982 which resulted in equal distribution of money between clubs competing in it every year. Most of the money comes from TV rights deal which amounts to around €33 million a year. We breakdown how Coap Del Rey generate revenue and then distribute between clubs.
Copa Del Rey Revenue Distribution System:
Current domestic and international TV deals for Copa Del Rey bring in around €33 million every year. 90% (€29.7 million) of which is distributed among professional teams in Spain while the 10% (€3.3 million) goes to amateur football teams every year. La Liga clubs get the majority of the 90% payment (€26.5 million) while remaining €3 million goes to clubs in second tier.
From La Liga's pool of €26.5 million, 50% is divided equally among 20 teams in the league and that comes to €660,000 per team. Rest is divided according to how the teams finish in the cup. In total a Liga Liga team is guaranteed at-least €1.34 million a year from Copa Del Rey campaign regardless where they finish in the tournament.

A total of €6.78 million is distributed according to how teams finish in the tournament starting from €1,500 offered teams playing in preliminary round to all the way €1.2 million offered to eventual winners. Copa Del Rey Gate-Receipt Payments:
Teams get to share the gate-receipt revenue. That can be massive additional revenue for second or lower tier teams. If they draw against one of the big teams away from home they get to share the gate receipt revenue which can be anywhere from €300,000 to even a €1 million depending on which stadium the match is taking place.
For the final, teams get to share gate-receipt as well. Real Madrid and Barcelona got €1 million extra for playing in 2025 Copa Del Rey final. In total if La Liga team wins Copa Del Rey they can clear around €3 million from this tournament.
